A while back ago we posted about our love for the Princess of Persian Prints, Mia Jafari and Florence Bamberger’s entry in the Sketchbook Magazine competition. The three creatives collaborated to create this limited edition whimsical and fanciful scarf. A perfect addition to a summer wardrobe, I love the fantasy of the scarf and it’s great to see the coming together of such talent. Looking forward to see what comes next from everyone.

Last night was the official launch of Rolling Stone Middle East, the party was held at the Gramercy (a New York style bar and restaurant) in the Dubai International Financial Centre. In true Rolling Stone style, guests were rock steady, dressed in leather, skulls and studs. Budweiser proved to be king of beers and Jack Daniels were a guest favorite of the night, with mini burgers and hot dogs being passed around – this was a strictly rock’n'roll diet.




The event organized by Chic Alors and hosted by Image Nation, by far our fav event of the year. We live, breathe and sleep rock’n'roll and Image Nation delivered one hell of a night.




We got our hands on some goodies including the first edition of Rolling Stone Middle East, we were super excited to see our homeboy Mr. Kanye West on the cover. With his F1 performance right around the corner we couldn’t have thought of a better coverstar. We spent today reading the magazine cover to cover and we have to say, we’re impressed. From the West Coast to the West Bank, the magazine covered it all.




Amazing night and a fantastic magazine.

Front row seats at the Amato Couture show at Dubai Fashion Week should come with a warning, one similar to those to people who sit in the emergency aisles of airplanes – be prepared because at any minute you may be in the line of fire. In this case that line was the catwalk which Furne One’s genius creative mind transformed the runway into a colosseum, where models became gladiator queens stomping to the death.




Not in the wildest dreams of Lady Gaga and Scarlett O’Hara could anyone but Amato Couture’s Furne One create a more beautiful and breathtaking 33 piece collection. Neck braces and support backs were seen on the runway along with the Elizabethan inspired haute couture gowns.




The show which was titled, “I’m the Queen” was a masterpiece and fluid combination of design, haute couture and theatrics – a show that would truly be at home at Paris Fashion Week.




Congratulations to Amato Couture for putting on an incredible grand finale to Dubai Fashion Week.

I’m beyond excited to announce the launch of Rolling Stones Middle East edition. Rolling Stone magazine is synonymous with music and entertainment, no other magazine comes close to producing iconic covers and stories.




Rolling Stone Middle East will be distributed regionally with 50-60% of the content being local. The UAE is becoming a hotspot for rockstar concerts, this year alone the UAE has and will see such acts as Kanye West, Prince, David Guetta and Mark Ronson. Mohammed Abdullah, Managing Director, Media Cluster–TECOM Investments welcomed the new magazine and said that “with approximately 55 per cent of the Arab regional population under the age of 25, there are clearly immense opportunities for media companies to tap into this segment.”

Swarovski Elements has recently launched the Jawaher Collection, a new initiative to promote and celebrate the glamourous elegance of Arab women. Designers such as Allessanra Rich, Sohad Acouri and Zaid Anton were asked to create pieces for the Jawaher Collection, the brief was to use Swarovski Crystals as a creative material to show a light fuelled allure as well as to remain in keeping with Middle Eastern tradition and style.




The Jawaher Collection shows a heightened level of sophistication and the designs have been thoughtfully executed. The use of the crystals are very well integrated and elevate the clothes to a glamorous and elegant level. Congratulations to Swarvoski and the all the designers for a beautiful collection.
